Cave of Agio Galas

It is a part of a riverbed, ancient and underground, with very interesting morphology, cut at the hill where the homonymous village is located.

In the interior, there is the chapel of Saint Anne and on the above side, another smaller cave, at the entrance of which, the church of Panagia (Virgin Mary) Agiogalousena is built (13th century A. C)

In the cave you can find an impressive, but limited in extent stone formation.

Its multi-labyrinth morphology and the unusual forms opened up at the smoothed by the water limestone are of a special interest (bridges, windows, balconies).

These two caves are of an important archaeological value given that finds of the Neolithic Era (5500 B.C.) as well as of posterior ages have been detected in, which are being kept in the Archaeological Museum of Chios.

The visit at the cave is possible only after communication.
