Potamia

At the eastern mountainside of Amani, 9km from Volissos, lies a newly built village, Potamia. There moved the inhabitants of Old Potamia (a deserted village nowadays), which lies in the junction of two rivers. Old Potamia is an ancient village with many oaks, spring waters, old buildings and remnants of windmills. 

You can enjoy a panoramic view of the village from the hill of Panagia Despina, which lies on the top of it. 

The area is famous for its noteworthy Aeolian potential, which led to the installation of 11 wind generators to the Aeolian park of Potamia. 

The local mezedes served in the small tavern of Nea Potamia.
