The Greek National Organization of Tourism (G.N.T.O) made this website possible by providing the necessary funding for the creation of a website that provides general and detailed information to Internet users. In an effort to increase awareness and entice individuals to plan their next holiday on the island of Chios, www.chios.gr was introduced to the web.
The Promoting Tourism Prefectural Committee of Chios recognizes the growing need to promote Chios to individuals interested in visiting the island, Greeks abroad seeking to keep in contact with their homeland and heritage, as well as locals looking to keep up with the island's current events and happenings. This website, therefore, serves to bring people together regardless of age, ethnicity and location.
The Committee assigned this development task to ENA Chios SA, a corporation based on the island. ENA Chios SA is a private firm established in 1997 that renders a variety of services to public and private individuals, corporations and offices.
