Mersinidi
Mersinidi beach is one of the popular close to Chios town beaches. It is in Vrontados area, only three minutes drive from Daskalopetra, a few metres from the Monastery of Panagia Myrtidiotissa (Our Lady of the Myrtles monastery).
In the past, access to the beach from the main road was via a steep path, which now has been opened, so it is much easier for someone to walk to the seaside.
There are several trees on the beach creating a nice shade. However, it is not an organised beach, so it is advisable to bring your water with you. This is one of the virgin seasides very close to town loved by locals and visitors. It is also known for the lovely green and blue shades of the water, as a result of both the vegetation of the environment and the richness of the sea.
