The Greek climate is typical Mediterranean climate. Winter here is mild and rainy, whereas summer is hot and dry, with a high percentage of sunshine most of the year. Chios has an excellent climate with mild weather conditions and a lot of sunshine. It is rare to encounter extreme weather conditions such as snow, hail or heat in Chios. There is a high percentage of humidity, with an average measurement of 62%.

Winds mostly blow from the North Northeast.

The coldest months of the year are January and February, with temperatures between 6-12oC. However, during these months there is also a period of mild weather with sunny days, known as “Halkyon days”.

The rains during the winter period do not last long.

The warmest months are July and August, when the maximum average temperature is between 29oC to 35oC. This is the best period for a summer vacation on the island.
